OUR STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON)

The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) was established in 1964 to develop Nigeria’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities. Since its establishment, DICON has supported the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies through the local production of munitions, small arms, artillery and other defence equipment.

The enactment of the DICON Act 2023 strengthened the Corporation’s mandate and expanded opportunities for collaboration with private-sector manufacturers and other strategic partners in developing Nigeria’s defence industrial base.

The partnership reflects Buckler’s commitment to supporting the development of a sustainable Nigerian defence industry through engineering, manufacturing, technology development and strategic industrial collaboration.

LEADERSHIP

Years In The Making

Buckler’s leadership has described the partnership as the outcome of groundwork that began years before the MOU was signed — positioning the Group not just to supply Nigeria’s armed forces, but to support allied forces elsewhere in Africa as local production capacity continues to scale.

Our ambition is simple: to manufacture more of what Africa needs, within Africa.
