Buckler Land Systems Limited is a Nigerian defence solutions provider with strong expertise in manufacturing civilian armoured vehicles, designs and prototyping of military vehicles and equipment. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Auto Mechanic to join our team.
Position Overview
This role requires a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Mechanic capable of inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles and service vehicles to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The role involves conducting diagnostic tests, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, repairing mechanical and electrical systems, and testing vehicles to confirm performance and roadworthiness while adhering to established safety and maintenance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on vehicles and service trucks.
- Inspect, maintain, repair, and replace suspension components, including shock absorbers, struts, springs,
control arms, bushings, ball joints, and related components. - Inspect and repair steering systems, including steering linkages and associated components.
- Inspect, repair, and replace braking system components to ensure effective and safe vehicle operation.
- Repair and replace defective or worn engine, transmission, drivetrain, and other mechanical components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, including leaks, abnormal noise, vibration, overheating, and other
vehicle defects. - Inspect and repair electrical and electronic vehicle systems, including lighting and basic vehicle computer
systems. - Perform routine servicing, including oil and fluid changes, filter replacement, lubrication, and other scheduled
maintenance. - Test and adjust repaired systems to ensure proper vehicle performance and safety.
- Comply with HSE policies and proper use of PPE.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background: Trade Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Automotive/Motor Vehicle
Mechanics or a related technical discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience as an Auto Mechanic in a manufacturing or automotive company.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of using automotive diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
Quality Control: Knowledge of quality control and inspection procedures to ensure repairs and maintenance activities
meet required technical and safety standards.
